October 2020 - The network meeting funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) gave participants initial insights into the status quo of Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) in China. At the meeting, two specially selected experts talked about the current status of CCUS in China.
Dr. Zhang Xian from ACCA 21 presented the latest information on the framework, developments, and implications of CCUS in China. This was followed by Mr. Liu Lianbo of the China Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute, who shared insights on the research progress of CCUS technologies, practices of related projects by energy enterprises, and views of opportunities and challenges for future development. Huaneng is also a board member of the China Technology Strategic Alliance for CO2 Capture, Utilization and Storage Technology Innovation (CTSA-CCUS).
