EP 85 optimises procedures and schedules launch of voluntary cancellation platform

At its 85th meeting, the Board continued to push ahead with simplifying the CDM by, among other things, adopting new rules on additionality in Programmes of Activities. Existing approaches to additionality verification (e.g. first-of-its-kind) were also reviewed and the introduction of new concepts (e.g. negative lists) was explored.

In the area of Standardised Baselines (SBs), further steps were taken to support the development of SBs: The Board decided to elaborate methodological frameworks for the development of Standardised Baselines for energy-efficient equipment in buildings and energy efficiency in buildings, and to develop a database on the costs and efficiency of technologies in self-service development.

EB 85 also addressed some measures to address the tight carbon market. For example, the Board considered the proposal to indirectly subsidize accreditation fees for DOEs and commissioned an analysis of this proposal. The introduction of the platform for voluntary cancellation of CERs is planned for September.
